Civic leaders have welcomed plans to deliver a new hotel on the site of Wakefield’s former Westgate Railway Station.

The project is part of plans to improve routes to and from Castleford railway station.

A series of public artworks celebrating Castleford’s history are to be installed in a ‘dilapidated’ subway near to the town’s railway station.
