If you’re setting your heat pump temperature over 21 degrees, you’re wasting your money. You can save up to $320 a year if you run your heat pump at 21 degrees, rather than 30 degrees. Here’s how it works: Heat pumps use increasingly higher amounts of energy for each degree increase above the optimal setting. For example, a heat pump set at 27 degrees will consume at least 50% more electricity than if it was set at 21 degrees. To be most efficient, there is a sweet spot of 19 to 21 degrees. So h
