It used to be that with Labor Day came Jerry Lewis’s MDA Telethon. Sammy believed in the cause and was a regular on the program for many years. In 1989, Sammy returned once more, but what no one knew was that it would be his final live television performance. The song he chose was “I Dreamed a Dream” from the Broadway show Les Misérables.
