Teaching Rio to use his Aerodawg inhaler was essential, as he has chronic bronchitis. However, his inhaler medication smells not so good to his sensitive dog nose. Using positive reinforcement and breaking down his task into steps, I was able to teach him to place his nose in his device and wait at least 5-7 breaths before moving. First, I built a positive association with the inhaler by getting him to touch it over and over. Then, I taught him a chin rest behavior (holding his face in my hand)
